Formada na Alemanha, no início da década de 70. Enquanto grande parte das bandas locais de rock aderiam ao Krautrock (resposta alemã ao Rock Progressivo britânico), Tiger era uma das poucas exceções da cena, fazendo um Hard Rock de bastante peso para a época, muitas vezes lembrando algumas das bandas mais pesadas da época como Sir Lord Baltimore, The Stooges e Black Sabbath.

A estréia da banda é dada com o single "Tiger Rock" em 1972, pela gravadora Vertigo. Em 1974, finalmente lançam seu álbum oficial "We're theTiger Bunch", que seria seu único álbum completo, contando com a participação do baterista do Atlantis, Curt Cress. O tecladista Veit Marvos também já havia tocado nas bandas Emergency, Midnight Circus e Twenty Sixty Six & Then. Com o fim da banda, Holger Schmidt entra para a banda Strassenjungs, logo depois indo para a Tokyo.

German Hard Rock band fronted by Holger Schmidt. While many local bands were adhering to Krautrock (german progressive rock), Tiger B. Smith were one of the few exceptions of the scene, playing a raw Hard Rock like Sir Lord Baltimore, Buffalo, The Stooges, Black Sabbath and many others.

They begin their carrer with the single "Tiger Rock" in 1972, by Vertigo label. In 1974, they finally issue their full-lenght album "We're the Tiger Bunch", which would be their only official album, with the special appereance of Atlantis drummer Curt Cress. Keyboardist Veir Marvos also has experience with Emergency, Midnight Circus and Twenty Sixty Six & Then. After their end, Holger Schmidt joined Strassenjungs and then Tokyo.
