Banda franco-americana formada em Paris, no ano de 1975, pela vocalista Fabienne Shine e pelo guitarrista Armik Tigrane. Com a substituição de Tigrane pelo guitarrista Ross Funicello, gravam seu segundo álbum apenas autointitulado, que garante um bom status comercial à banda. O sucesso do álbum foi garantido principalmente pela banda ter aberto alguns shows para o Black Sabbath, além de contar com as participações especiais dos guitarristas Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) e Buck Dharma (Blue Öyster Cult). Inclusive, o Shakin' Street foi produzido pelo mesmo produtor das bandas Black Sabbath e Blue Öyster Cult, Sandy Pearlman.

No início da década de 80, o guitarrista Ross deixa a banda temporariamente para ingressar no Manowar, sendo substituído por Andrew "Duck" McDonald, que simultaneamente passou a tocar com o Blue Cheer, durante sua turnê em meados da década de 80. Depois da dissolução do Shakin' Street, cada integrante segue seu próprio caminho: Ross se reúne com sua antiga banda, Dictators, e Fabienne segue em carreira solo no final da década de 80.

Em 2003, o selo German Ulftone lança uma versão remasterizada do álbum "Shakin' Street".

French/ american band formed in Paris, in 1975, by the members Fabienne Shine (vocal) and Armik Tigrane (guitars). When Tigrane was replaced by Ross Funicello, they release your second self-titled album, which achieve a great commercial status for the band. The success of the album was guaranteed mainly for the band have opened some shows for Black Sabbath, as well as the special appearances of Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) and Buck Dharma (Blue Öyster Cult). Also Shakin' Street was produced by the same producer from Blue Öyster Cult and Black Sabbath, Sandy Pearlman.

In the early 80's, guitarist Ross left the band to join the heavy metal band Manowar, beeing replaced by Andrew "Duck" McDonald, that also started to play with Blue Cheer during their tour in the middle 80's. After the Shakin' Street dissolution, each member follow his own way: Ross returns to his first band, Dictators, and Fabienne follows solo carrer in the late 80's.

In 2003, the German Ulftone label re-issued the album "Shakin' Street".

The Godz foi formada em 1976, em Columbus, Ohio, sendo aclamada como uma das mais “legendárias bandas locais” do meio-oeste norte-americano. Antes do lançamento de seu primeiro álbum auto-intitulado pela gravadora Millenium Records, a banda havia aberto shows para as bandas Cheap Trick e KISS, em 1977. Agora com uma sólida reputação, o Godz embarca em sua primeira tour pela América ao lado da banda Angel. Em 1979, é lançado o álbum “Nothing Is Sacred” pela gravadora Casablanca Records, conseguindo um grande sucesso comercial.

Apesar de todo o seu mérito, o The Godz nunca foi bem visto pelos olhares da crítica “especializada”, que os consideravam como somente mais uma banda clichê. Exemplo disso é uma resenha publicada pela revista Rolling Stone em 1983, onde o autor descreve a banda como “um miserável quarteto de Ohio que apenas mimetiza os piores excessos do rock setentista”.

Em 2006, Eric Moore retorna com a banda em sua nova formação, agora com Nikki Storm na guitarra-solo, Ronnie Hughes na guitarra-base, Bub Adams no baixo e Keith Pickens na bateria.

The Godz was formed in 1976, in Columbus, Ohio, acclaimed as the one of the most “legendary local bands” from the Midwest. Before the release of your first eponymous album by the label Millenium Records, the band had opened for Cheap Trick and KISS in 1977. Now with a solid reputation, the Godz start your first tour across America. In 1979, “Nothing Is Sacred” came by the label Casablanca Records, gaining a big commercial success.

Whatever the group’s merits, The Godz went unappreciated by rock critics; the 1983 Rolling Stone Record Guide describe them as a “miserable quartet from Columbus, epitomizing the most wretched excesses of the seventies rock”.

As of the 2006 the Godz remains extant, with Eric Moore still fronting the band on vocals and guitar, Nikki Storm on lead guitar, Ronnie Hughes on second lead, Bub Adams on bass, and skinmaster Keith Pickens keeping the beat.

Fantástica trilha sonora composta pela banda Sorcery para o filme Stuntrock, de 1978. Não se trata da mesma "Sorcery" da postagem abaixo. São outros músicos e esta banda é de Los Angeles. O filme é um "rock-movie" sobre um garoto australiano que parte para os EUA e se mete com a banda, com bastante ação e aventura (uma idéia do filme você pode tirar pelo trailer - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXNBS4WqyX8 ). Um som bem direto e interessante, com qualidade instrumental e bem registrado na gravação. Um álbum da pesada, bem "hard-rocker" para ouvir no talo. O álbum já abre bem com a arrasadora "Sacrifice" ; o resto é pauleira do início ao fim, com exceção de canções mais tranquilas como "The Bird Song" e "Stuntrocker".

Banda formada em 1976, em Chicago. Disco único, já beirando o heavy-metal. Pauleira sem muitas nuances e som de alto impacto! Riffs jorrantes, baixo e bateria bem marcado e vocais a altura de um som bastante pesado. Destaque para as faixas "Airbone", "Fly The Sky" e Schitzoid", que lembra o Hawkwind e a faixa "Slippin' Away".

American band from Chicago, making a heavy rock nearly as 80's heavy-metal sound, with powerous riffs.
