Banda japonesa formada em Okinawa, no início da década de 70, pelos irmãos gêmeos Toshio Shiroma e Masao Shiroma. Em 1975, ao assinar contrato com a gravadora Japanese Records, lançam seu primeiro álbum "Starship" (a.k.a. Murasaki). Mas a banda se consagra mesmo com o álbum "Impact" em 1976, conferindo-lhes o status de melhor banda do Japão. Também vale lembrar que os dois primeiros álbuns alcançaram uma marca recorde de vendagem jamais alcançada por qualquer outra banda japonesa até hoje.

Em 1978, com a dissolução da banda, o tecladista George Murasaki muda-se para os EUA e funda sua própria banda George Murasaki & Mariner, lançando dois álbuns ainda no mesmo ano. Entretanto, o projeto não dura muito e George parte para um outro projeto, "George & Murasaki Okinawa", saindo um pouco da linha hard rock.

Early 70's japanese band formed in Okinawa by the twins Toshio and Masao Shiroma. In 1975, signing with Japanese Records label, they release "Starhip" (a.k.a. Murasaki). But the band starts to gain popularity with the album "Impact", released in 1976, reaching the status of the best rock and roll band of the country. Also remembering that their two first albums reached a record sale that never ever reached by any other japanese band until today.

In 1978, with the band's dissolution, keyboardist George Murasaki moves to USA and forms your own band George Murasaki & Mariner, issuing two albums in the same year. However, he decides to form another one, "George & Murasaki Okinawa", with less hard rock tendences.
